MACHINE TOOL

PRE-INSTALLATION CHECKLIST

Installation assistance, and power initialization, on your new CNC Machine Tool will be provided by personnel under the direction of the RODCO Service Manager.

Prior to this there are certain steps that must be accomplished as the customer's responsibility and they are summarized as follows:

[ ] The machine should be uncrated, unpacked, etc., in accordance with instructions in the supplied manuals, and positioned on the leveling pads. Care should be taken with regard to placement to insure that electrical panels, hydraulic tanks, and other miscellaneous service access points are left easily accessible.

[ ] All exposed surfaces that are covered with a protective coating (cosmoline, etc.) should be cleaned. Any dirt that may have accumulated during transportation should likewise be removed.

[ ] Fluids necessary (as per the requirements listed in the supplied manuals) for the operation of the machine should be ON HAND. These fluids should not be put in the machine until the RODCO Service Technician arrives and provides supervision.

[ ] All manuals and test equipment (if applicable) should be made readily available to the RODCO Technician.

[ ] Electrical conductors should be run to the machine tool according to the manufacturer's electrical specifications per Article 670 of the 1987 National Electrical Code. Lugs of correct wire and stud size should be attached to the conductors. The equipment grounding conductor should be run to the machine tool per Articles 250-50 and 250-51 of the National Electrical Code. The earth should not be used as the sole equipment ground. Ground impedance should be less than two (2) ohms.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
POWER TO THE MAIN BREAKER IS NOT TO BE INITIALIZED (TURNED ON)

The power initialization step should only be accomplished in the presence of the RODCO Service Technician. Failure to comply may severely damage the machine.

[ ] Air supply lines, if applicable, of the type & volume as specified in the manual, should also be run to the machine.

[ ] The last step in the process is to contact the Service Manager (or his representative) at RODCO for scheduling of the Technician's visit to complete the installation. The customer should allow 3-4 working days for the scheduling of this visit and should plan accordingly.

[ ] At the completion of the installation, the Applications Engineering Manager at RODCO will call you to schedule a visit by an Application Engineer to provide orientation and operator training on your new CNC Machine Tool. Your particular training requirements, both this initial orientation and operator training, and any additional training that may be required should be discussed with the AE Manager at the time of his call. Time must also be allowed (usually within 3-4 days) to allow for this visit to be scheduled.
